Ricky asked for a book by Susan Collins for his birthday. It is called “Gregor the Overlander.” He devoured it. I’ve been reading it to Ricky and Billy at night and that wasn’t enough for him … Ricky read ahead and finished it last week.
Today he got a trip to the book store for completing the reading requirement from school (1000 pages or 10 grade appropriate books). We killed the requirements! Ricky got a free book. Guess what he picked?
The sequel to “Gregor the Overlander.” It is called “The Prophecy of Bane.” Ricky first read that as “the property of ban.” I had him look a little closer and then we discussed what those words mean.
I had also promised him a visit to Jamba Juice (the boy loves his smoothies) but first we popped into Target for some school supplies.
When we got back into the car, Ricky said,
“Momma, going to that store instead of Jamba Juice next was really bane.”
Guess he learned something.
