WA Trip 8: The Last of the Pictures

This should be my final post about our trip to Washington.  And that is good since we’ve been home a month now!

The boys enjoyed getting to know their cousins better.  Grant definitely helped them improve their Nintendo DS skills …

There was a kickball game at one point.  My boys found other ways to be entertained …

The row boat on the pond was usually being used by the older cousins, but when Kevin would take the boys for a ride they were thrilled!

Swimming in the pond sounded fun too …

… and then they got in the water …

It was a bit cold and creeped Rusty out a bit …

But he finally got in with his dad …

They were all happier in the hot tub …

Tommy was happy when they were in the hot tub too – since he got to go in with them!

The boys enjoyed re-meeting Grandpa Dick and Grandma Evelyn.  Rusty did his best to avoid Grandpa Dick, but when he was captured, the two of them were very sweet together.

Grandpa Dick was tickling Rusty and Rusty bopped him on the head in defense.  Grandpa Dick pretended to cry and Rusty kissed him better.  Seriously a tender moment!

There are 15 cousins.  From left to right … Megan (2), Rusty (2), Ella (2), Cambrie (4), Billy (4), Jackson (5), Ricky (7), Grant (8), Benjamin (9), Joseph (11), Ethan (12), Daniel (13),  Tommy (1), Jacob (14), Whitney (5 months).

The house we stayed in was huge.  And there were a lot of cars parked inside it.  The cars were parked in the open areas where receptions or parties would most likely be held – not the living quarters where we mostly stayed.  I took a few pictures … these aren’t even all the cars.

This little man statue was just inside the door from the garage.  More than once Rusty was found having a very in depth conversation with him.

The indoor basketball court/gym was a favorite place for the boys.

They ran and screamed and threw balls … and didn’t get in trouble for any of it!

As I was taking this picture to remember the place by, something bumped into my legs.  I looked down and found this …

I don’t know how I missed them playing boat, but I was most definitely in their way!

This is the hallway from the living rooms to our bedrooms.  Tommy perfected his walk going back and forth and back and forth up and down this hall.

This door was the bane of Kevin’s vacation.  It opened to the front of the house, right where the pond was.  It was left open.  A lot.

The day finally came to go home.  We didn’t get nearly the farewell pictures I was hoping for, but we did manage one with Aunt Wendi.

It was a great trip, but the boys were ready to head home … to their own beds and their own toys.

A little DS in the car …

A little Angry Birds …

A few moments of smiling …

(don’t let that smile fool you – he wasn’t thrilled to be back in that car seat) …

Kevin even let me drive for a while …

Our last fun adventure was a picnic on the floor of our final hotel.  The boys thought this was the silliest thing.

It was a really great vacation and I hope the boys remember it.  If not … I’ve certainly written enough about it here to jog their memories!
