I do believe I’ve mentioned that my boys like books and reading.
It’s a habit that I more than happily support. The only room in our house without at least one book in it is the laundry room, I believe. The others have bookcases or baskets or even just a pile for them to look at as they please. It isn’t something we have to encourage – in fact, Kevin and I get scolded if we forget or try to cut short story time.
I think these lines by poet Kevin Seales nicely sum up my boys’ feelings about books …
So if someone says, that reading books is for girls
They don’t understand that reading rocks my world
It lifts me, spends me, sends me in a twirl
Oh how I love reading books
