Rusty, the Red Nosed Reindeer

While scrounging around in my Halloween stuff, I found a light-up nose.  Clown, reindeer – works well for either one.  Rusty immediately put it on and let me know that HE was a reindeer, not a clown.

He is the funniest kid.   He loves hide and seek – although we aren’t usually playing a game, it is just him hiding from me when he thinks I want him to do something that he doesn’t want to do.  He’ll hide under end tables, behind chairs, behind the toilet … anywhere he can crawl.

We took away his pacifier last month and thought things were going well.  Rusty stopped asking for a drink every five minutes for an hour after bedtime and there was no more crying for his pacifier.  Then Kevin discovered Rusty’s secret.  Rusty had learned to steal Tommy’s pacifier at night.   He’d wait for Tommy to be asleep and then BAM he’d take it!  Kevin would find it in bed with Rusty or sometimes still in Rusty’s mouth in the middle of the night.  Once Rusty stopped waiting for Tommy to go to sleep, Kevin started scolding.  All would be quiet … Tommy would start crying … Kevin would go into the room … and Rusty would just hold up one of Tommy’s pacifiers, knowing he was defeated.

We love our little two year old.  Wouldn’t trade him for anything!

And you know that this picture didn’t turn out well …
