S.Q.U.I.R.T and Being Rich

Pictures a'la October 2004 and, no, they have nothing to do with this post

In grade school some teacher or administrator or somebody came up with S.Q.U.I.R.T. and we had it every day.  Too many years later, I still remember what it stands for … Silent Quiet Uninterrupted Individual Reading Time.

I instigated this with Ricky and Billy a couple of weeks ago and they seem to love it.  When I need some quiet or they just need something to do, I simply say, “It is time for SQUIRT!”  They both go find something to read.

I don’t know how long this will last, so I’m doing my best to thoroughly enjoy it.  It helps that they already like to read …

We were driving in the car tonight and saw a rainbow out the window.  Ricky and Billy started talking about following it, leprechauns, and pots of gold.  They both got excited at the idea of being rich.  I learned something from Billy.  He said,

“If we find the gold, we’ll be rich!  I’ll have lots of money in my piggy bank!   Oooo, or I could have lots of CHOCOLATE in my piggy bank!  Yum, chocolate!”

There you go.
