Thankful Thoughts

A little more than a month ago, I felt our boys needed a refocus.  Kevin and I talked about it and decided they needed a bit more gratitude in their lives.  To help with that, we started our Thankful Thoughts.

Before our family prayer most nights, we go around the circle and everyone shares something that they are thankful for.  It was a bit slow going.  Rusty was thankful for whatever we ate for dinner for more than a week!  But it is coming along and their gratitude seems to be a bit deeper now – okay, sometimes it is a bit deeper.

Sometimes the things they choose to be thankful for make my heart warm and fuzzy and I’m reminded how cool my boys really are!

Here’s a sample of our Thankful Thoughts from last night …

Ricky was thankful for electricity. (our power had been out for a while the night before)

Billy was thankful that he could make himself snow ears out of soap in the bathtub.

Rusty was thankful for our Little People toys. (I’d just pulled them out for the first time since we moved)

Tommy was thankful for books.

Poppy was thankful for the DVR. (it was currently recording the BYU football game)

And, quite honestly, I don’t remember what I was thankful for.  Probably how cool my family is!
