Scout Fundraiser Cake

Our Boy Scouts did a fundraiser dinner and cake sale about a month ago.  The boys were each asked to decorate a cake with their dads.

I was a bit busy (and absent minded) so when a good friend asked if I wanted half of her cake that she made for her son to decorate, I quickly said, “Yes!  Thank you!”

With the appropriately sized cake waiting, Kevin went to work with Ricky.  They got out the frosting and colored it.  Then they got out my cake decorating tools.  At that point, I stepped in just a little.

A quick lesson and then I left the room to avoid having to watch them at work. (I was trying to be good and really wanted to take over – deep breath and walk away)

Ricky really likes rabbits and so they made a bunny cake.  I think they did a marvelous job!

Grandmama bought the cake and then let us bring it home to dissect it – I mean, eat it.

(For the record, that is me wielding a butter knife in preparation to cut the cake … not attack my son.)
