Summer Home Life

We try to keep summer low key at our house.  Lots of down time to make up for the craziness during the school year.  There is an effort to do chores and keep up on school time, but mostly the boys just chill.  It works.

The board games come out … Clue is a favorite.  Everyone wants to be the one who killed Mr. Boddy!

The boys found a baby robin hopping around the backyard one day.  They watched as the Momma bird tried to feed it and led it away to a safer part of the yard before sharing her worm.

We’ve been to the library a lot this summer.  Ricky plows through books so fast that I can’t keep enough on hand for him.  This particular library trip brought home 19 books.  They were all read and returned within 3 weeks.  It would have been faster, but our week-long family trip slowed him down!

Rusty has been building like there is no tomorrow.  Legos and Trios are his friends!  He comes up with some pretty cool stuff!

Summertime also means being more adventurous which means more owies.  Good thing we have a nice assortment of ice packs to make their owies feel better.  My kisses just don’t quite cut it anymore.

Ricky and Billy have latch-hook projects to work on this summer.  The goal was to finish them before school starts.  We may have to push that back, but they do a good job and seem to be enjoying it.  Once they are fully latched, I’ll turn them into pillows for them.

Summer is a good time to practice our fashion sense.  I don’t know if some of my kids have any … but they are stinkin’ cute so who cares!

I have LOVED having Kevin working from home so much this summer.  I pretty much love him!
