Tractor Santa

One of my favorite Hooper traditions is the Santa parade.  It isn’t even a city sanctioned event – just a family that loves Christmas and loves sharing that joy with its neighbors.  This family has millions of lights and a huge display on their house and then, one Sunday evening, they parade through the neighborhood.

A tractor covered in lights, driven by Santa, pulls a trailer of carolers, Frosty, and the Grinch in a cage.   A tin soldier walked along side handing out candy this year!

Because we live on a circle, the parade doesn’t go in front of our house.  This year we hung out with friends while we waited for the parade to pass their house.  Games, visiting, hot cocoa, and Santa parade … perfect!

I wasn’t sure how Bobby would react to Santa.  Last year, he wasn’t interested.  He loved him though and all the rest of the float – until Santa’s beard got too close for a picture!

Sigh.  I love where we live!
