I love Beus Pond. I love the trail around it. I love the big ole geese. I love that my boys love it.
On New Year’s Day, I needed an adventure and wanted to get outside, so we grabbed a box of Kix cereal, and went to the pond!
Ricky was actually able to pet that goose!
I don’t think Bobby remembered seeing the geese before. He just wanted to follow them … right out into the pond!
On one side of the pond, where it was frozen solid, some skaters had cleared a skating rink. We didn’t have any skates, but we did our best to slide around.
The boys thought it was pretty cool…
And then Kevin started dragging the boys. They thought it was great fun – I thought it was weird. So I took a picture.
Oh, be still my heart … he’s cute!
Sigh.
Adventuring together makes the boys happy, too!

There was a little bit of swimming room for the ducks and geese.
Kix cereal isn’t the best choice for feeding the birds. They didn’t really seem to like it (kid tested, not bird approved) but they humored us and ate it anyway.
Ricky really enjoys animals the most out of my boys. No fear.
A cold little 1 mile hike to start our year off right! Perfection.
