Kindy 500 for Tommy

The kindergarten puts on a patriotic program every spring.  The kids have a unit where they learn about different national symbols and the day of the program they each bring in a cardboard box car.  After singing, they “drive” to each of the different symbols/landmarks and learn even more about them.  It is all very adorable.

This year for Tommy, when it came time to create his box car, he needed a few suggestions.  His first picks were cars that his brothers have done the last couple of years (a batmobile, a dinosaur car).  That is boring for this mom, so I gave him a long list of suggestions.  I was tickled when he decided on a “Harry Potter broomstick!”  Tommy FLEW to all his landmarks on his “Tommy 2016.”

Man, I love this kid!  You can see the singing and box car parade HERE.  It lasts about 10 minutes.  Tommy is in the middle of the second row from the bottom wearing a red hoodie.  He had just lost his second front tooth that morning (Mrs. Young pulled it out just before the program) so he was having trouble singing without any front teeth!  Mrs. Young is the one leading the music – we love her!

Bobby was less than impressed.  He chose to spend some time picking up staples from the floor rather than watching the box cars go by.  Finicky 2 year olds!
