End of Preschool Year #1

Billy’s first year of preschool is finished.

We really enjoy Ms. Cherie and he’ll be headed back there this next fall.

Billy’s last day was celebrated with some recognition certificates and a magician.  Here’s Billy getting his certificate … he’s the turquoise-shirt behind the monkey.

The celebration was supposed to be at the park since it is for all three of Ms. Cherie’s classes, but the non-stop rain forced us all into her garage.  It was a little crowded.  Rusty found a comfy spot under the stairs.

Waiting for all the certificates to be handed out and the parents who kept stopping the flow to take pictures (apparently they weren’t satisfied with their children being hidden by an inflatable monkey) took some patience.

Rusty’s patience ran out.

The magician was … okay.  The boys thought his “monkey” was pretty funny though (I’m not sure they knew it was a puppet).

Billy’s favorite part was the end when the magician made a rabbit appear in a box.  The kids got a chance to pet the bunny.

I got to pet it, too.  Cute thing!

Billy really enjoyed going to school.  He made some friends.  He got to do a lot of neat activities and wear a lot of fun costumes.  He’s learned to write his name, count to 100 (with a little help), and he knows the sounds a lot of letters make.  Most important to me is that he had fun and socialized with kids his own age.  Totally worth it.

It is hard to believe that he looked like this last September:

And now he’s grown up into this:

Maybe I can get Ms. Cherie to teach him how to stand still for pictures instead of striking a pose … the turkey!
